Welcome to Cragg Vale Community Association

For hot topics and a quick guide to local events start below and then read about each item in more detail under What's On.  That's where you'll also find back copies of our newsletter archive, buried at the end.  Our very active History, Carbon Neutral and Environmental groups can be found in SubGroups.

Don't forget to regularly check out our Gallery of Local Pictures and find out more about our postcards and calendars.  If you're looking for our local business sponsors and locally recommended tradesmen then you need to delve into our Trade Directory.  Finally we've included Links to some of the other local groups with whom we work that may be of interest.  To find out why the association exists and what it stands for then visit About Us where you can find out about membership, the committee and how to contact us.  Better still, if you live or work in Cragg Vale then come along to one of our meetings at The Robin Hood or the Hinchliffe..

HOT TOPICS

AGM 11th November '11

Well it was worth just to enjoy the food - and there was plenty.  In fact so much that some of it went down to St Johns in the Wilderness to supplement the Remembrance Day service refreshments.

There was a review of what's beena cracking year fronted of course by the park activities (see below and the next page) and yet on top of everything Liz still manages to publish a fantastic newsletter four times a year.  What would you like to put into the December issue or what would you like to read about.

Calendars -They're out and you don't want to be left without, so buy yours now

The 2012 calendars are receiving fantastic applauds so make sure you're not the one who doesn't have a copy and doesn't know whats in them.

Our Park
Feedback on the works carried out has been very positive - if you haven't already visited the new park, please try to call in and take a look at the new equipment and sensory garden.

The park is now much more visible from the road, with the carved animals leading the way in up the path. A stone monolith has been installed at the beginning of November, again to emphasise the presence of the park.

Replacement of the shelter

Our observant readers may have noticed that the large green shelter on the site of the park, overlooking the main road, has recently disappeared. Unfortunately it was in very poor repair and was becoming increasingly dangerous. It will shortly be replaced by a brand new shelter being constructed of green oak by Calderdale Council craftsmen.

And it goes on. See the Environmental Group for more details.
